Executive Team
Jackie Tschernia Executive Director
Jacqueline Tschernia, co-founder and executive director of Comprehensive Cancer Centers Foundation Inc. (CCCF), and integrative medicine services administrator for Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN), has always expressed a unique ability to empathize and care for others. Her genuine desire to help those in need lead the way to earning her credentials as a reiki master, life coach and medical oncology massage therapist.
Jackie was born in North London, England and raised in New York City. Upon completing her education she embraced a rewarding and successful career in business administration as well as the creative and performing arts. Her genuine desire to “help others heal” compelled her to expand her education in that direction. In the early 1990’s, Jackie studied the ancient healing art of Reiki with the top teachers in that field and became certified with honors. She went on to study therapeutic massage at the Dahan Institute for Massage Therapy and graduated top of her class. These two disciplines gave her a strong foundation in the physiological and psychological benefits of healing and reinforced her insight and understanding of integrative medicine.
In 2001, Jackie’s mother was diagnosed with cancer and eight and a half months later, made her transition. This life-altering event crystallized Jackie’s life purpose. In short, Jackie knew she was going to make a difference by providing people with healing options. After completing Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s prestigious oncology massage program in 2003, she was ready to use her skills to pioneer an integrative approach to health using different kinds of “healing” modalities.
In the latter part of 2003, she developed and conducted a pilot program in medical massage at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. The overwhelming response to the program allowed her to expand the program and develop an ongoing seminar series for integrative therapies.
Jackie was also inspired to create, along with the doctors of CCCN, a foundation. Comprehensive Cancer Centers Foundation was established in 2004 and, as executive director, Jackie is dedicated to providing cancer patients, caregivers, medical professionals, family members, and the public at large, with education on integrative healing modalities, disease prevention, support, direct integrative services, and creating opportunities for participation in cutting edge non-pharmaceutical research.
There are very few of us who have not been touched, in some way, by cancer. Through the priceless experience of sharing her mother’s cancer journey, Jackie has become an extraordinary advocate for the integration of complimentary and alternative healing modalities into mainstream medicine.
Jackie is no stranger to caring for others; she has four younger siblings, two wonderful children, and a darling grandson. She now makes her life and home in Las Vegas and is passionate and dedicated to her cause. Her motto, a compilation of philosophies and beliefs, is “seize the day (carpe diem); nothing is impossible, always look for the positive no matter how negative life may seem, one person can make a difference, hold on to your sense of humor because the ability to laugh – especially at yourself – will get you through so many challenges. Jackie is often heard to say that although she is quite petite, being able to create and live her dream and to be passionate about what she is doing allows her to feel “10 feet tall!”
